Play Date: Comedy for Queers

  • The Glory 281 Kingsland Road London, E2 8AS United Kingdom (map)

If you’ve ever been to an open mic night you’ll know that roughly 100% of comedians are straight white men in chinos. Why? Well Sue and Celeste, the creators of The Glory’s new queer comedy show, have dedicated their time to understanding how privilege is amassed, in the hope of getting some.

Celeste is a comedian, Sue is a drag queen, and their new show combines the funniest queers of the cabaret scene with the most established names in comedy who aren’t straight white men in chinos. Their hope is that this will create a strange funny valuable queer space for play. And that that will be quite lucrative for them.

So if you’re a pansexual in mink, a POC in velvet or, yes, even a straight white man in chinos, come explore the idea of what’s funny.

Guest performances by Shazia Mirza & Mawaan Rizwan. All are welcome.
